Cosa c'è di più carino di un cane seduto in piedi? Non tanto! Questa è una delle domande più frequenti che mi vengono poste. Sembra che non importa quanto ci provi, i cani si siedono in piedi. E per quelle persone che amano i cani e vogliono sapere perché si siedono così spesso ai nostri piedi, ecco i motivi:
Si siedono ai tuoi piedi e vogliono essere il più vicino possibile. I cani si siedono accanto a te sul divano, si siedono ai tuoi piedi mentre cucinano la cena, si siedono sotto una scrivania durante l'orario di lavoro, si siedono fuori dalle porte quando sei via da casa... vogliono solo stare con te. Quando hanno ansia da separazione può diventare molto stressante sia per il cane che per il proprietario perché i cani non capiscono che i loro proprietari torneranno. L'ansia da separazione è abbastanza comune nei cuccioli, ma può anche svilupparsi nell'età adulta se un cucciolo non impara che essere separato dai suoi familiari è normale e sicuro. Se c'è stato un cambiamento significativo nella routine o nell'ambiente, potrebbe innescare questo comportamento, come cambiare casa o avere nuove persone in giro frequentemente (neonato, nuovo coinquilino).
I cani amano stare vicino a te, sedersi accanto a te sul divano o sedersi vicino ai tuoi piedi mentre si riposano sopra di loro. I cani sono creature leali che non vogliono altro che che noi umani li trattiamo bene e diamo loro affetto quando necessario. Capiscono che forniamo loro cibo, riparo e acqua, quindi è giusto che facciano tutto il necessario per ripagare la nostra gentilezza.
Puoi anche insegnare a un cane trucchi che lo aiuteranno a intrattenerlo, come sedersi come gli è stato insegnato prima di cena ogni sera, fino a quando non gli viene detto diversamente (o se gli viene chiesto gentilmente). Si ecciterà all'ora dei pasti perché sa che viene nutrito dopo aver eseguito questo trucco.
Il tuo cane sta cercando di attirare la tua attenzione quando ti mette i piedi addosso o si siede di fronte a te. I cani si siedono o mettono i piedi su cose che gli piacciono e vogliono più vicino a loro, come una persona. Se il tuo cane vuole qualcosa di specifico da te (come andare a fare una passeggiata), prova a dargli quello che vuole prima di chiedergli qualcosa!
Più si eccita mentre esegue questi comportamenti, meglio è. Ciò significa che è un modo efficace per soddisfare i suoi bisogni! All'inizio potrebbe sembrare sciocco, ma dopo un po' il tuo cucciolo si renderà conto che questo comportamento fa sì che le persone prestino attenzione a lui, il che poi porta a ricevere ciò che desidera di più, l'attenzione è una di quelle cose.
Questo può anche significare che ci sono momenti in cui il tuo cane si siede o ti mette i piedi addosso quando anche lui non è felice, ma questo è molto meno comune.
Non preoccuparti! Questo comportamento non ti farà del male in alcun modo e semmai renderà entrambi i cuccioli più felici mentre ottengono ciò che vogliono l'uno dall'altro. Il tuo cane potrebbe anche pensare che metterti i piedi addosso significhi "ti amo" poiché quelli sono solitamente riservati ai momenti in cui un cucciolo si sente molto sicuro e al sicuro con qualcuno.
